Double Metal Jacket Gasket

Post by Mohsen Alamdar, Sep 05, 2019.
semi-metallic

CONSTRUCTION:

Farafan Double Jacketed Gasket (DJG) is made from graphite, ceramic, non-asbestos etc. filler covered with thin metal jacket, such as stainless steel, carbon steel, copper etc. By their sealing efficiently, provide outstanding resilience, while the metal jacket guarantees excellent sealing and protects the filler against pressure conditions, fluctuating temperatures and corrosion

APPLICATION:

Farafan DJG is particularly suitable for sealing flat surfaces of heat exchanges, gas pipes, cast iron flanges, cylinder heads of engines as well as for boilers and other vessels. By their sealing efficiently, provided by exerting strong pressure on circular rimes of the flanges, metal-jacketed gaskets can stand up to 30% deviation from the initial thickness, which is very useful in case of irregular or faulty flange rims. The chemical compatibility of the metal and the medium being sealed should be considered.
special metal Ti, Mon 400 are also available on request.
Materials for the insert:
Flexible Graphite, ASB, Non-asb ceramic fiber, mica etc
DIMENSION:
Outer diameter: Up to 5000mm
Thickness: From 2 to 8mm
Farafan DJG comes in sizes according to ANSI B 16.21 and ANSI B 16.5 standard, EN 1514-4, and any sizes you offered.

Single-jacketed gasket

Single-jacketed gaskets are constructed by encasing the soft filler material on one face and both edges. The metal jacket acts as reinforcement for the soft sealing material. Style 620 is generally used where the radial dimensions of the equipment sealing surfaces only allow space for a narrow width seal.

Double-jacketed metallic gasket

Double jacketed gaskets are constructed using one piece of metal to cover the bottom and edges of the soft sealing material, and an additional piece of metal to completely cover the face. Style 623 has good compressibility and resilience and is the most popular clad gasket manufactured.

Single-Jacketed gasket with extra filler protection

Construction of this gasket offers more filler protection than the standard single-jacketed design (Style 620). Style 624 is especially useful for applications where the radial dimensions do not allow space for a double-jacketed gasket.

Double-Jacketed, Corrugated Gasket

Style 626 employs a corrugated jacket to increase resilience. Suited for circular and non-circular applications in widths of 3/8" (9.5 mm) and wider. The concentric corrugations act as labyrinth seals beyond the inner edge of the gasket.

Double shell metallic gasket with completely overlapping inner seal

The double shell on Style 627 allows greater hoop strength and rigidity with the addition of a completely overlapping inner seal. This gasket will withstand higher compressive loads common in high pressure applications.

Double jacketed corrugated gasket with corrugated metal filler

The metal filler in Style 629 has greater resilience to problems resulting from temperature changes. This unique multiple piece construction provides a more resilient gasket that adapts well to temperature and pressure cycling. The temperature limits of this gasket are governed by the metal selected.

Style 631 French type gasket

Style 631 is ideal for narrow circular applications that require a positive unbroken metal gasket line across the full width of the flange. The filler is exposed on the OD. This gasket is also available in one, two and three-piece designs.

elected metal and CERAFELT® gasket

Style 635 is designed to be used in lightweight flanges. The thick compressible layer of CERAFELT® is shielded on the ID with a metallic barrier. Style 635 is commonly used in applications with very hot gases and low pressures, as in duct work.

Single Jacketed Profile

Metal-jacketed profile gaskets employ the same principle of reduced contact area while protecting the flange faces from damage due to scoring. This gasket is manufactured with a kammprofile core and reinforced with a single metal jacket

Double Jacketed Profile

Metal-jacketed profile gaskets employ the same principle of reduced contact area while protecting the flange faces from damage due to scoring. This gasket is manufactured with a kammprofile core and reinforced with double metal jackets
